Introduction to Inventory and Warehouse Management |
|
This class is part one of a two part program designed to help you implement a truly
effective warehouse management system. As with anything else, a good foundation
is essential if you hope to create the best possible system. On day one, we will
discuss optimal layout for the “efficient warehouse”. We will dive into
the significance of product groups, sort name and other key fields within the item
record and how to utilize these fields to give you maximum capabilities for finding,
sorting, and organizing items within the database. Discussion will be included on
how to setup multiple warehouses and how to keep track of consignment inventory
and project stock. “Do I transfer the items to my field workers or directly
to the job they are working on?” We’ll address that too! We will show
you some of the receiving tricks we have picked up over the years. The best way
to handle core and warranty issues. Utilization of unit of measures tables and how
you can leverage it to meet all your stocking, ordering, and selling needs is included.
We will cover branch to branch transfers and how to do it in a way that you won’t

order items on-the-fly from within a sales or service order and how that will affect

Moving to Percentage of Completion Accounting |
|
This class is designed for accountants whose companies are currently using Job Costing
to control costs. The DBS Job Costing Module provides multiple accounting
solutions for recognizing revenue and costs. T & M jobs recognize available
costs whenever jobs are billed and BTE and LS jobs recognize revenue and costs at
closing (which is controlled by the user). Percentage of Completion, however,
recognizes revenue as the job progresses. In this class, you will learn what
additional information is needed to properly set up jobs to run under Percentage
of Completion, and the accounting that is performed during the month and at month-end. |
